Is this another version of Fifty Shades of Grey. Unwilling to provide a decent drama or even a psychological thriller; Lost Girls And Love Hotels"throws two strong lead actors and good source material into a fiery trashcan.
In this drama, an English teacher haunted by her past explores love and lust with a dashing yakuza gangster in Tokyo.
Don't get me wrong; Alexandra Daddario is hypnotizing in this lead role and Takehiro Hira is solid, but "Lost Girls & Love Hotels" is a complete lost case I didn't love at all. The direction is flimsy, the script is poor and it can't decide if it wants to be a drama or a thriller. It could've been such a great character study but aims so low. Somewhere along the 25-minute mark, I thought to myself "this is going to be a train wreck. I wasn't wrong and it's a shame.
